- Semiconductor & Electronics Industry (Core Application)
 
This is the most significant and crucial use of hydrogen selenide. It serves as a precursor for metal selenide thin films, widely used in manufacturing high-performance thin-film solar cells and light-emitting devices.
Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS) Thin-F Thin-Film Solar Cells: This represents the largest application scenario for hydrogen selenide. In the CIGS cell manufacturing process, hydrogen selenide is used as a selenium source via vapor deposition techniques (such as MOCVD), enabling it to react with other metal elements to form the light-absorbing layer. Cells produced by this method exhibit high conversion efficiency and stable performance.
Other Optoelectronic Materials: It is also used for depositing other II-VI group compound semiconductor materials, like zinc selenide, which can be applied in infrared optical windows, lasers, etc.
