What is Propylene ( C3H6 ) ?
Propylene or Propene C3H6, is an alkene and unsaturated organic compound. Differently from Propane, it has a double bond that gives it a combustion advantage i.e. it burns hotter. The dominant technology for producing propylene is steam cracking. The same technology is applied to ethylene. Propene is the second most important starting product in the petrochemical industry after ethylene. It is the raw material for a wide variety of products.
